We often like to pass along helpful information to our equine friends about people who have helped us out or had a positive impact on our lives, whether it’s providing great service, helping us out in a jam, or just being there to listen.

Larry's Auto Service - Sarasota, FL

My friend Larry Bianchi, owner of Larry's Auto Service in Sarasota, FL, is one of those people whose integrity, skills, and friendship has had a tremendous impact on my life, and I can't say enough good things about him! He’s dubbed in my book as one of the smartest and most honest mechanics I have ever known. Larry is the only mechanic I whole heartedly trust to work on anything I own, and unlike many other mechanics I have met, he is a straight shooter, and more than fair! To make matters even better, he’s an avid Ford Mustang and drag racing enthusiast like I am. In fact, he holds national records with the stock eliminator crate motor Mustang which he built, owns, and is currently competing with.

Larry has been more than patient when working with me and my mustangs, as well as exceptionally helpful whenever I needed advice or help with any of my project vehicles. Needless to say, I would highly recommend him to anyone having trouble with tow vehicles, daily drivers, antiques, or classics, and especially for anyone working on a restoration or project vehicle.

Larry’s Auto is located at 2141 Whitfield Park Drive, Sarasota, FL 34243 - 941-758-9879.

If you’re looking for a hard-to-find Mustang or Ford performance part, give Larry a call, chances are he can help you out. He specializes in Ford C-4 performance transmissions, using J W Performance parts, and many others. Whether it’s your project car or daily driver, Larry can fulfill all your auto service needs.

Larry has my highest recommendation, so give him a call today, and tell him I sent you!

Christine Smith - Sport Horse Handler

Christine Smith of Wildest Expectations Farm in Stephens City, Virginia, shown here with Dream Catcher at the 2006 Fair Hill Breed show, handles all of our mares and foals at region 1 breed shows. Christine takes the time to get to know each of the horse's she is showing, and works really hard to figure out which cues work for them, always trying to get the best performance possible each time she's in the ring. The horses respond well to her kind and gentle approach.

In addition to having an exceptionally positive attitude about each horse's abilities and talents, Christine unselfishly shares her knowledge and secrets with her clients. In fact, her tips helped us tie for first place, and win the nod in the 1999 Dressage at Devon amateur handler class!

We highly recommend Christine and her handling services. She is also available for showing-in-hand clinics at your farm. Contact Christine at 540-664-0234.

CEM Quarantine at Rigbie Farm

We routinely transport horses from the USDA Federal Import Quarantine at the Animal Import Center in Newburgh, NY to their new homes, and recently had the unique opportunity to transport stallions from the CEM State Quarantine Center at Rigbie Farm, in Darlington, MD. The folks at Rigbie welcomed us as new shippers to the industry, and we are looking forward to transporting many horses to and from Rigbie Farm.

Persimmon Tree Farm

Westminster, Maryland is home to the K2 show stables and the talented team of Carolyn and Kenny Krome. Horse Jitney recently had the pleasure of shipping some of their lovely horses to the Maryland National Show held at Prince Georges Equestrian Center. Please visit their website to learn more about their hunter/jumper training and showing services.

Legacy Friesians

It isn't often that you have a full load of high quality Friesians on your trailer, but we recently had that experience when we transported a load of three of these gorgeous animals! Two of the Friesians were Jelmer van Manege Nes who joined us from the USDA Animal Import Center in Newburgh, NY traveling to his new home in Tennessee, and the newly imported Friesian stallion Oene R.V. who traveled from quarantine to Bruce Griffin's training center in southern Virginia. Looking for a Friesian? Contact Sue Zoltner at Legacy Friesians.

Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue

Located in Lisbon, Maryland, the Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue specializes in rescuing draft breeds and finding them forever homes. In the past two years they have re-homed over 120 horses. They valiantly try to rescue them from the fate of the killers from the New Holland auction, and for horses which are clearly unhealthy and not adoptable, will often pay the auction veterinarian not to allow the horse to be shipped for slaughter, but will humanely destroy the animal onsite. Of course this takes money, and most people don't want to donate money for euthanasia, however, it is a fate far better than hours of transport on a trailer or van where many animals die enroute. Please consider making a donation to Gentle Giants and learn more about them on their website at www.gentlegiantsdrafthorserescue.com.
